چکیده
In this study, simulation of Fitzhugh nagumo model in order to generation and propagation of the wave of action potential over the length the of the squid giant axon and survey the passage of time effect in wave propagation have been explored. Simulation has been performed by using the Comsol Multiphysics 3.5 a software. So that, in this simulation, squid giant axon is intended to form hollow cylinder. For this purpose PDE (general form) module have been used. Then by running the simulation steps, we see that the wave of action potential along axon at different times released and from the beginning to the end of the axon is transmitted. Thus, nerve signals are transmitted between different organs.

Study of neurons plays a key role in the fields of basic and medical research aiming at the development of electrically active implants. The Fitzhugh-Nagumo equations are used to model and simulate the spike generation and propagation in a squid giant axon using Comsol Multiphysics® 3.5a Software. It is shown that the Fitzhugh-Nagumo equations allow for a geometrical explanation of important bi...
متن کاملTiO2 based surface acoustic wave gas sensor with modified electrode dimensions for enhanced H2 sensing application
The design and optimization of nanostructure-based surface acoustic wave (SAW) gas sensor is analyzed based on TiO2 sensing layer and modified electrode dimensions. The sensitivity of the gas sensor depends upon the type of sensing layer used and active surface area obtained by varying the aspect ratio. The performance of the sensor is observed from 0.1ppm to 100ppm concentration of ...
متن کاملDesign of FIDT for 3D Analysis of MEMS Based Gas Sensor Using SAW Technology
As energy can neither be created nor be destroyed but can be transformed from one form to other form, depending on application. In some cases energy released/ absorbed in any reaction sometimes will alter the process parameters and cause disturbance in normal flow of operation. This effect has its impact even in fundamental wave propagation properties and results in introduction of unwanted noi...
متن کاملViscous Models Comparison in Water Impact of Twin 2D Falling Wedges Simulation by Different Numerical Solvers
In this paper, symmetric water entry of twin wedges is investigated for deadrise angle of 30 degree. Three numerical simulation of a symmetric impact, considering rigid body dynamic equations of motion in two-phase flow is presented. The two-phase flow around the wedges is solved by Finite Element based on Finite Volume method (FEM-FVM) which is used in conjunction with Volume of Fluid (VOF) sc...
